Making medicine as complicated as possible
Various publications love to have articles (like this one!) about how to fix healthcare in America. And invariably they have a lot of terms that mean nothing to me. But I’m just a doctor! There are people who understand more about medicine that know what they are talking about with “pipeline programs, leveraging technology, and creating flexible workforces to support our teams. We are also modernizing care delivery and patient progression, focusing on essential areas like our emergency department. We’re in the midst of a multi-year initiative that will transform outpatient access and deliver a consistent patient experience while enhancing provider satisfaction.”
But maybe we’ve been making healthcare more complicated than it needs to be. Maybe we can go back to a patient paying a doctor directly and the doctor supplying the best possible care that they can. That’s exactly what we are trying here at Homestead DPC! And what hundreds of DPC practices across the nation have been doing for years. Genius!
